The Tulalip tribal elder Terry Williams died this week at the age of 74.
Terry Williams served with great distinction on the US Department of Agriculture, National Genetics Resources Advisory Council from Oct 2011 – September 2017. He contributed to the Council valuable insights into Indigenous Peoples’ priorities and perspectives. His quiet, firm, and always incisive input shaped many of the NGRAC’s studies and recommendations during his six-year term.
He “retired” just a few years ago but remained hard at work launching salmon migration mapping programs and weighing in on local watershed management plans.
Mr. Williams will be truly missed by all, and we commend his dedication the contributions he has made for the tribal communities and the world.
